Post-GLP-1 Aesthetic Recovery · Battersea

Your body changed.
So did your face.
Restore both.

Mounjaro, Ozempic, and Wegovy work. They also take volume from the cheeks, definition from the jawline, and elasticity from the skin. The 12-Month Post-GLP-1 Recovery Programme at Melatone restores what rapid weight loss removes, through a sequenced protocol delivered by a clinician-led team in Battersea.

Why this exists

The "GLP-1 face" is real. Most aesthetic clinics ignore it.

GLP-1 receptor agonists, sold as Mounjaro, Ozempic, Wegovy and others, induce rapid weight loss. In the face specifically, this produces three clinically observable changes:

  • Loss of subcutaneous facial fat in the temples, cheeks, and pre-jowl area, often described by patients as "looking gaunt" or "older."
  • Reduced skin elasticity as the underlying volume support disappears faster than the dermis can adapt, leading to skin laxity, nasolabial deepening, and jowl appearance.
  • Compromised skin quality from rapid nutritional shifts and reduced hydration, typically dullness, fine-line emergence, and inflammatory dryness.

The standard aesthetic clinic response, "we'll just put filler in your cheeks", treats one symptom and ignores the other two. The skin still loses quality. The protocol still fails six months later. Our approach treats volume restoration, skin regeneration, and skin quality as a single, sequenced 12-month outcome.

The 12-Month Recovery Programme

Four phases. One coordinated outcome.

Phase 01 · Month 1-2

Skin Foundation Reset

Two HydroMED Pro facials, 4 weeks apart. We re-establish hydration, restore the barrier function compromised by rapid weight loss, and prepare the skin for the deeper regenerative work to come.

Delivered by: Catia or Vanessa

Phase 02 · Month 3-5

Regenerative Skin Quality

A Polynucleotides Course of 3 (Nucleofill Strong, full face) at 4-week intervals. This is the core regenerative phase, improving dermal hydration, elasticity, and skin tone from the layer beneath the surface.

Delivered by: Arman or Vicki

Phase 03 · Month 6-9

Volume & Definition

Considered, conservative restoration of midface and jawline definition using bio-stimulator therapy, long-lasting volume that supports collagen production rather than masking the issue with quick-fix filler.

Delivered by: Arman or Vicki

Phase 04 · Month 10-12

Maintenance & Glow Lock-in

Monthly HydroMED Pro sessions plus one final Polynucleotides top-up to lock in the result. From month 12 onward, you transition to a maintenance cadence that suits your goals.

Delivered by: Full clinical team

Why phased, not parallel: Restoring skin barrier function before regenerative injection means better penetration and outcomes. Strengthening dermal quality before volume restoration means the volume sits on healthier tissue and lasts longer. Sequence is the entire reason this protocol works where a single filler appointment doesn't.

Who you'll see

A team built for this protocol.

The Post-GLP-1 protocol pulls from four different clinical disciplines. Most clinics don't have one team that covers all four. Melatone does.

Evidence base

Honest about what's known.

The clinical literature on GLP-1 facial changes is still emerging, the medications themselves are relatively new. What we cite:

  • GLP-1 receptor agonists and facial volume loss: case-series and clinical observations now widely published in dermatology and plastic surgery literature, with rapid weight loss as the recognised mechanism. We treat this as category-level rather than product-specific evidence and adjust expectations accordingly.
  • Polynucleotides for dermal regeneration: Kim ST. Pharmaceutics. 2025;17(8):1024. doi.org/10.3390/pharmaceutics17081024, category review.
  • Polynucleotide-class effect on periorbital skin: Ziade G et al. J Cosmet Dermatol. 2026;25(2):e70736. doi.org/10.1111/jocd.70736, Pluryal Silk product. Cited as category evidence, not Nucleofill-specific.
  • Bio-stimulator efficacy + safety: we operate within established UK clinical protocols. Specific product evidence reviewed per case during your consultation.

Where evidence is category-level rather than product-specific, we will tell you. Where outcomes vary widely between patients, we will tell you that too. We are deliberately not in the business of overselling.

Common questions

Before you book.

Do I have to stop my GLP-1 medication?+

No. The protocol is designed to work alongside ongoing GLP-1 treatment or after you've finished a course. We coordinate aesthetic timing with your weight-loss trajectory so we're not chasing a moving target.

When should I start the programme?+

Ideally once your weight has stabilised for at least 4 weeks, we want to treat the face you'll have, not the face mid-transition. If you're still actively losing, we recommend booking the consultation now to plan timing, but starting active treatment when weight has settled.

Is this safe for darker skin tones?+

Yes. Melatone is built specifically for safety across the full Fitzpatrick I-VI range. Every treatment protocol in the programme has been selected for melanin-safe delivery. We'll perform a full Fitzpatrick assessment as part of your consultation.

What if I only want one phase, not the whole 12 months?+

Each phase is also available standalone, priced per its standard treatment cost. The 12-month bundle is the most cost-effective and the most clinically integrated, but we won't push you into more than you need. The consultation will identify which phases are most relevant to your specific face.

Can I see before and after photos?+

The protocol is new in its packaged form. Individual treatment outcomes (Polynucleotides, HydroMED Pro, bio-stimulators) we can show in consultation. Aggregate Post-GLP-1 outcomes we'll publish once our first cohort completes 12 months. Honesty over hype.

Where is the clinic?+

Unit 13A, Battersea Business Centre, 99-109 Lavender Hill, London SW11 5QL. Ten minutes' walk from Clapham Junction. Full transport, parking, and team details at visit.melatoneskinclinic.co.uk.
